www.photonet.org.ukSteve Schofield www.steveschofield.co.ukMy practice is concerned with the hyper-real. I reflect the desire of my sitters to create a utopian existence based on their obsessions and hobbies, each influenced by popular culture. By photographing science-fiction costumers in their own homes in Britain, I have sought to show how, through this strange sub-cultural world of fandom, like-minded people establish a fictional existence to escape the everyday.

www.ask-art.netMy work explores the idea of the human/doll composite. It is intended as a satirical take on the pornographic image, posing questions about desire and fantasy and their representation in mainstream post-feminist culture. I draw attention to the objectification of the body and, at the same time, the disassociation between the commercialised male sexual fantasy and everyday experience of intimate relationships.
