Solution, or Mess? A Milk Jug for a Green Earth

The bottle is pretty square in UK, the only different is you can't stock on top of each other. I am not quite suere that they try to gain more money or be "green".

Air piano by Omer Yosha

It looks really fancy.
However, it seems that we don't need to "pratice" or "learn" anymore. Simply wave our hands in the air then we become musicians.

Clock by Christiaan Postma

The word “three” completely appears when it’s exactly 3 o’clock and will then transform again as time passes. The word “four” begins to appear and at exactly 4 o’clock the word “four” is clearly visible. The word “three” is by then totally vanished and no longer readable.

I must say, it is a great piece.

Genpets by Adam Brandejs

Today, we are well within the process of desensitizing an upcoming generation towards accepting bioengineering as “natural”. I see this generation slowly and systematically being desensitized towards owning and manipulating life through toys such as Tamagotchis, and Furbies. Toys that mimic living creatures but carry no weight of responsibility with them. Individually these objects are harmless, however when analysing the trends in consumption on a larger scale, we can see that with every new toy the envelope is pushed a little further. Bioengineered pets could not have been acceptable yesterday, but they are today. Boundaries have been eroded.

1960s Braun Products Hold the Secrets to Apple's Future

Ive's inspiration on Rams' design principles goes beyond the philosophy and gets straight into a direct homage to real products created decades ago. Amazing pieces of industrial design that still today remain fresh, true classics that have survived the test of time.

The similarities between products from Braun and Apple are sometimes uncanny, others more subtle, but there's always a common root that provides the new Apple objects not only with a beautiful simplicity but also with a close familiarity.

Asimov's first law by Alice Wang

white lies
Scales, although don’t perform physical harm, have been subtly damaging us psychologically. Some are deeply hurt by their bluntness; some choose to cheat.

This scale allows one to lie to him/herself.
The further back you stand, the lighter you become.
The user can gradually move closer and closer to reality.

Mind Chair by Peter Marigold and Beta Tank

Mind Chair - a collaborative interactive furniture design with Beta Tank
The electronic unit sits as a retrofitted parasite within an existing and very familiar design describing how a technology that is both simple yet astonishing in its effect, could be incorporated into something as ubiquitous as a piece of institutional furniture. The familiarity of the assemblage leads to a guessing game as to how the device might be used in a simple alternative teaching environment.

When the user makes the difference

In the report’s first part the student authors introduce the term user-driven, its relation to other types of innovation and the diversity of the definitions. The history of user-driven innovation is also presented.

The report then continues with an overview of which companies in the Nordic countries have utilised knowledge of their users in developing new products and services, including a shortlist of success stories.

Mr. Jones Watches by Crispin Jones

Right or Wrong provides a moral traffic lights - as the seconds turn there is an animated colour change on the dial from red to blue-green. In a moment of doubt (do I really have to leave now? Is there time for one more drink?) the wearer can look at the watch for guidance. In extreme cases one can pop out the winding crown which will stop the mechanism on an answer - giving no scope for cheating (well you can always play 'best-of-three' if you don't get the answer you want first time!)

The Mantra alternates a very positive statement (e.g. "you are amazing") with a very negative one (e.g. "nobody likes you").
The Mantra makes the arrogant person more humble and makes the humble more confident.
